Alameda, CA DDS Services
The California Department of Developmental Services (“DDS”) provides services and care supports to developmentally disabled individuals of all ages. To ensure the best, most accessible care possible, DDS administers its services through a network of 21 regional care centers spread across the state. Each care center is a privately run, non-profit organization that contracts with DDS to provide services to the local community. DDS services in Alameda County are administered by the Regional Center of the East Bay (“RCEB”).
What the Regional Center of the East Bay Does
RCEB serves all of Alameda County including Oakland. Additionally, it also serves Contra Costa County. RCEB provides a full range of services for everyone from infants to adults. These services include:

- Care coordination to find the most appropriate services and resources
- Educational assistance
- Residential placement services
- Crisis stabilization
- Family coordination
- Help finding providers for a range of different therapies
- Behavioral assistance
- And much more
This list is far from exhaustive. Ultimately, RCEB is there to help you access whatever forms of care and support you or your loved one needs. To discover the full range of services and opportunities available, reach out directly to RCEB or speak with your care coordinator.
Serving the Community
RCEB works to promote independence in each and every client. A key part of that is delivering care directly in the communities where people already live.
To that end, RCEB maintains a full calendar of events and programming. Be sure to visit the RCEB’s website to see what’s coming up. Alternatively, talk to your care coordinator about community specific programming through RCEB. Whatever your needs, DDS services in Alameda County are readily available through RCEB.
